In the first quarter of 2025, the social networking landscape in the United Arab Emirates saw notable trends across the top applications, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Threads experienced a steady increase in weekly downloads, peaking at about 54K in late January. Active user numbers consistently grew, reaching approximately 1.8M by the end of March.
Telegram Messenger maintained a robust weekly revenue, with peaks around $93K in early March. Downloads remained stable, with a noticeable spike to 52K in the last week of March. Weekly active users hovered around 3.6M, with minor fluctuations throughout the quarter.
botim saw a slight decline in weekly downloads, averaging around 40K, while its active user base was strong, exceeding 5.8M in March. Revenue fluctuated modestly, with a peak of about $10K in late February.
WhatsApp Messenger continued to lead in active users, consistently engaging over 8M weekly. Downloads showed a downward trend initially but stabilized around 39K towards the end of the quarter.
Google Meet experienced a gradual increase in active users, reaching over 820K by March's end. Downloads peaked at 13K in early March before tapering off slightly.
