In the first quarter of 2025, the top five social networking applications in Germany displayed diverse performance trends, according to Sensor Tower data. Here's a closer look at how each app fared:
Threads from Instagram, Inc. saw its weekly downloads fluctuate between 114K and 186K, peaking in early March. Weekly active users remained fairly stable, ranging from 3.1M to 3.2M.
Telegram Messenger by Telegram FZ-LLC showed a significant increase in weekly revenue, reaching around $172K in early February. Downloads peaked at 173K in the first week of March, while active users hovered around 5.4M to 5.7M.
WhatsApp Messenger maintained strong weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 223K in mid-March. Active users consistently increased, reaching over 52M by the end of the quarter.
Discord - Talk, Play, Hang Out from Discord, Inc. generated steady revenue, with weekly figures around $90K to $113K. Downloads remained relatively stable, with a slight peak of 53K at the start of the quarter. Active users were consistently above 4.5M.
rednote by Xingin experienced a notable spike in downloads in mid-January, reaching 361K. Revenue varied slightly, peaking at $2.2K in mid-January. Active users showed a declining trend, ending the quarter at around 46K.
