During the first quarter of 2025, the top-down gaming category in Costa Rica showcased interesting trends across the top five applications. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides valuable insights into downloads, revenue, and active user metrics.
Brawl Stars from Supercell saw a varied performance. Weekly revenue fluctuated, peaking at around $21K in early January before experiencing a decline and then recovering to approximately $19.9K in late February. Downloads began at 7K, gradually decreasing to about 2.7K by the end of March. Active users started at 356K, decreasing to 291K over the quarter.
Pokémon TCG Pocket by The Pokemon Company had a notable revenue spike at the end of January, reaching $24.5K. Downloads began at 3.5K, dropping to 1.5K towards the quarter's end. Active users fluctuated, starting at 81K, dipping mid-quarter, and closing at 64K.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang by Shanghai Moonton Technology experienced a steady increase in revenue, starting at $6.4K and peaking at $7K by late March. Downloads remained low, starting at 1.2K and declining to 372. Active users hovered around 10K throughout the quarter.
Clash Royale, another Supercell title, had a consistent revenue flow, peaking at $7K in early January and maintaining around $5K towards the end of March. Downloads were stable, with an initial 2.9K, slightly increasing to 2.7K by the quarter's end. Active users grew from 256K to 271K.
Finally, 8 Ball Pool™ by Miniclip.com started with a revenue of $6.3K, fluctuating throughout the quarter and ending with $3.4K. Downloads were highest at 18.4K initially, decreasing to 5.9K. Active users decreased from 166K to 129K over the quarter.
