In the second quarter of 2025, the consumer finance app landscape in Mexico on the Android platform showcased varying trends in downloads and active users, as monitored by Sensor Tower.
Banco del Bienestar Móvil experienced a significant fluctuation in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 546K at the beginning of April and reaching a peak of 821K the following week. By the end of June, downloads had decreased to around 110K. Meanwhile, weekly active users saw a substantial increase, peaking at over 8.1M in the first week of June.
Openbank México showed a steady increase in both downloads and active users. Weekly downloads started at 145K, peaking at 410K in late April, before stabilizing around 126K by the end of the quarter. Active users followed a similar upward trend, beginning at 132K and climbing to 576K by the end of June.
BBVA México maintained a consistent download rate, fluctuating between 139K and 162K throughout the quarter. The app's active user base remained robust, starting at 17M and slightly varying, ending the quarter at 17.1M.
Nu had a stable download pattern, with weekly downloads hovering around 113K to 131K. Active users saw a gradual increase, starting at 6.2M and reaching over 6.8M by the quarter's end.
Banco Azteca recorded steady weekly downloads, ranging from 101K to 112K. The active user count showed minor fluctuations, beginning at 6.4M and closing at approximately 6.3M.
