In the second quarter of 2025, the top sports apps on iOS in Australia showed varied performance trends. Here's a closer look at the weekly downloads, revenue, and active user data for these leading apps, as reported by Sensor Tower.
Kayo Sports from Hubbl Pty Ltd saw a strong revenue performance, peaking at around $1.1M in mid-May. Weekly downloads fluctuated, starting at 20.7K and dipping to 10.3K by the end of June. Active users also showed some variation, peaking at roughly 843K in early April before settling around 680K at the quarter's close.
Play AFL maintained a steady presence with active users increasing from 22.8K to 111.7K. Downloads started strong at 16.8K, but saw a decline to 3.8K by the end of the quarter.
The Sportsbet - Online Betting App recorded a stable number of active users, averaging around 460K throughout the quarter. Downloads peaked at 12.7K in late May, but ended the quarter at 4.8K.
The AFL Live Official App from Telstra Limited experienced consistent active user engagement, hovering around 500K. Downloads started at 5.9K and decreased to 3.3K in June.
Lastly, the NRL Official App also from Telstra Limited, had active users ranging between 203K and 221K. Downloads were modest, beginning at 4.3K and concluding at 2.2K.
