In the second quarter of 2025, the performance of the top book apps on the unified platform in Australia showed varied trends in downloads, revenue, and active user engagement. This analysis is based on data from Sensor Tower.
Audible: Audiobooks & Podcasts, published by Audible, Inc., experienced a peak in weekly revenue, reaching approximately $365.9K in mid-May. Downloads fluctuated slightly, with a notable increase to 10.8K by the end of June. Active users remained robust, peaking at over 1.26M in early June.
Amazon Kindle maintained a steady download rate, with a peak of 9K in early May. Active users showed a gradual rise, culminating at about 361K by the end of the quarter.
Libby, the library app saw consistent weekly downloads, averaging around 6.5K. Active users experienced a decline, dropping from 219K to around 186K over the quarter.
BorrowBox downloads remained relatively stable with minor fluctuations, ending the quarter with over 4.1K downloads. Active user numbers showed a downward trend, decreasing from 133K to 137K by the quarter's end.
Goodreads: Book Reviews had a modest download increase, peaking at 3.6K in late June. Active users varied throughout the quarter, reaching a low of 122K in early June before recovering to 150K by the end.
