In the second quarter of 2025, the performance of personal finance budgeting and planning apps on a unified platform in Australia showcased varied trends. According to data from Sensor Tower, these trends provide insight into user engagement and app revenue.
Splitwise saw a notable fluctuation in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $3.2K by the end of June. Downloads remained relatively stable, crossing the 6K mark in the last week. Active users, however, showed a decline from 139K at the beginning of the quarter to around 124K.
WeMoney: Pay off debt faster experienced a steady revenue increase, reaching $2.2K in the final week. Downloads saw a downward trend, starting at over 4K and dipping to 2.6K. Active users hovered around 64K, with a slight peak mid-quarter.
The Buddy: Budget Planner App maintained a consistent revenue trend, ending the quarter at $1K. Downloads slightly increased towards the end, reaching 1.7K. Active users remained stable, fluctuating around 3K.
Smartsalary showed a significant drop in downloads from 4.4K at the start to 834 by the end. Active users decreased from 12K to just over 4K during the quarter.
Lastly, Frollo - Feel good about money maintained a steady download rate, ending with 1.6K. Active users were stable, closing the quarter at nearly 29K.
