In the third quarter of 2025, the top social networking applications on the iOS platform in the United States showed diverse performance trends in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. This analysis is based on data from Sensor Tower.
Threads, developed by Instagram, Inc., experienced significant weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 752K in late July. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 32M and 35M throughout the quarter.
WhatsApp Messenger, by WhatsApp Inc., maintained a consistent download pattern, ranging from about 380K to 460K per week. Active users showed a slight decrease from 62M to 59M over the quarter.
Telegram Messenger saw a steady increase in weekly revenue, reaching approximately $1M by the end of September. Downloads varied between 250K and 340K weekly, while active users hovered around 21M.
Discord - Talk, Play, Hang Out from Discord, Inc. demonstrated stable weekly revenue, culminating at around $1.4M. Downloads were consistent, averaging around 260K to 290K weekly, with active users increasing slightly from 26M to 27M.
Facebook maintained a steady presence with weekly downloads averaging between 230K and 290K. Revenue showed a downward trend, starting at $472K and decreasing to $178K by the end of the quarter. Active users remained robust, slightly decreasing from 78M to 76M.
