In the fourth quarter of 2025, the personal finance app market on the Android platform in South Africa saw varied performance across the top applications. Here's a detailed look at the trends for these apps, with data courtesy of Sensor Tower.
Splitwise experienced a noticeable increase in weekly revenue, starting at around $219 and climbing to $385 by the end of December. Downloads showed a similar upward trajectory, beginning at 271 and rising to 385. Active users also increased, from 7.2K to 9.1K over the quarter.
For Budge・Savings & Budget Planner, weekly revenue remained relatively stable until mid-December, when it jumped from $116 to $235. Downloads followed a similar pattern, peaking at 842 in late December.
Wallet: Budget Expense Tracker saw a steady revenue increase, from $109 to $178. Downloads surged at the end of the quarter, reaching 479. Weekly active users also rose, ending the quarter at 1.1K.
YNAB showed fluctuations in revenue, ending December at $170. Downloads spiked dramatically mid-December, reaching 529, while active users increased to 555 by the end of the year.
Finally, Money Tracker Expense Tracker experienced consistent growth in revenue, peaking at $123 in late December. Downloads remained strong, with a peak of 803, and active users increased to 3.9K.
