In the final quarter of 2025, the performance of carpooling and ridesharing apps on the iOS platform in Kenya showed varying trends. Here's a breakdown of the top five applications based on their weekly downloads and active users, with data sourced from Sensor Tower.
Bolt: Request a Ride demonstrated a consistent rise in weekly downloads, starting from about 4.4K in late September and peaking at approximately 7.7K by the end of December. In terms of active users, the app maintained a strong presence, starting with over 209K users and closing the quarter with around 189K.
Uber - Request a ride saw a gradual increase in downloads, beginning with around 2.1K in early October and reaching a peak of 4.5K in December. The app's active user base also grew, starting at 91K and peaking at approximately 111K mid-December.
Faras experienced a notable increase in downloads, particularly in early December, reaching about 1.8K. Active users fluctuated slightly, starting at 24.9K in late September and ending the quarter at approximately 23K.
Yango: taxi, food, delivery had a modest increase in weekly downloads, beginning with 222 and growing to about 538 by the end of December. The app's active users also rose steadily, starting at 788 and increasing to over 1.2K.
Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver saw a steady but modest increase in downloads, starting with 166 and peaking at 273 in early December. The number of active users also showed a gradual increase, starting at 1.9K and reaching 2.2K by the end of the quarter.
