In the fourth quarter of 2025, the top music and podcast applications on a unified platform in the United States demonstrated varied performance trends, according to Sensor Tower data.
Spotify: Music and Podcasts saw fluctuations in its weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $2.4M in mid-December. Its weekly downloads experienced a notable increase in early December, reaching around 649K, while active users surged to nearly 95M in the same period before slightly declining.
YouTube Music maintained strong weekly revenue, with a peak of about $6.1M in late December. Downloads spiked to approximately 223K at the start of December, and active users increased significantly, surpassing 32M in early December.
Shazam: Find Music & Concerts had steady weekly downloads, peaking at around 140K in late December. Active users saw a slight increase, reaching over 13M by the end of the quarter.
Amazon Music: Songs & Podcasts experienced a rise in weekly revenue, reaching about $2.2M in late December. Downloads peaked at approximately 162K in the same period, while active users consistently hovered around 11M.
Finally, SoundCloud: The Music You Love had a revenue peak of about $1.4M in late December. Weekly downloads were stable, with a high of around 130K in mid-October, and active users reached over 6.8M in late October before a gradual decline.
