As we step into the heart of 2023, the digital fitness and weight management landscape continues to evolve. Sensor Tower's latest data provides an insightful look into the performance of the top five Fitness & Weight Loss applications in the United States for Q2 2023.
MyFitnessPal: Calorie Counter remains a strong contender with a notable revenue trend, peaking at around $2.1 million in late April before a slight dip to approximately $1.7 million in mid-June, and then a recovery to nearly $2 million by the end of the quarter. Downloads for MyFitnessPal showed a significant spike to roughly 180k in mid-May, while weekly active users hovered around 3.7 to 3.8 million for most of the quarter, with a notable drop to around 3.6 million at the end of June.
Fitbit: Health & Fitness saw its revenue fluctuate, starting at just over $1 million in late March, dipping to around $885k in early April, and then surging to over $2.1 million by the end of June. Downloads for Fitbit maintained a steady increase from around 52k to nearly 67k in mid-June, while weekly active users showed a slight decline from around 7.1 million to 6.8 million through the quarter.
onX Hunt: GPS Hunting Maps experienced a gradual decline in revenue from around $1 million in late March to approximately $865k by the end of June. Downloads saw a small uptick from about 22k to over 30k in mid-June, while weekly active users remained fairly stable, with a slight decrease from around 164k to 145k.
AllTrails: Hike, Bike & Run witnessed an impressive revenue spike, jumping from around $630k to over $1.1 million by the end of June. The app's downloads peaked at about 156k in late May, and weekly active users saw a significant increase from around 428k to over 655k, indicating growing engagement as the weather improved.
WeightWatchers: Weight Health showed a varied revenue pattern, starting at approximately $770k and dipping to around $602k in early June, before climbing back up to about $619k. Downloads peaked at around 23k in late May, with weekly active users experiencing a slight decrease from 202k to 180k over the quarter.
