The top grossing SVOD app in the United States for August 2019 was YouTube with more than $37.1 million in user spending, a 2x increase from August 2018. HBO NOW was the second highest earning SVOD app in the U.S. for August 2019 with more than $17.4 million in gross revenue, which represented 24 percent year-over-year growth from August 2018. The next top grossing app was Hulu, followed by ESPN and STARZ.
