There are hundreds of thousands of apps on the app stores and it is more important than ever to stay on top of your app marketing efforts. You can do this is by using other mobile apps to streamline your workflow.
This post will give you our top 10 picks. If you have any favorites that are not on this list, we would love to hear about it.
You could install three or four separate apps to manage your social media marketing, or you could just install Hootsuite. Schedule posts to Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+ and more. They also provide many other features like link shortening, advanced reporting and click tracking.
The free version has more than enough features for any app publisher. But the Pro version is very inexpensive and if you will be doing a lot of social media marketing, then it is certainly worth the price.
If you sign up for Pro, you can add team members and post to Facebook and LinkedIn groups. We use Hootsuite Pro and it works well.
After Google pulled the plug on Google Reader, Feedly became one of the most popular RSS readers. Their mobile app is easy to use and will help you stay up-to-date with your favorite news resources.
Take a few minutes every month to add new resources to your reader. You should follow educational resources, news feeds and your competitors.
If you use a Wordpress blog to market your mobile app, there are quite a few blog management apps out there. The one that I like is Blogpad Pro.
It makes it really easy to create and manage your blog posts from an iPad. There are a ton of features that are not available in other apps.
Photo editing essential for posting pictures to social media or for creating blog posts. Since you cannot get a full blown copy of Photoshop on your mobile device, you have to decide which features you really need.
In my opinion, you only need four basic features:
Crop photos
Rotate photos
Resize photos
Change basic image attributes like brightness, color and levels.
Pilxr Express makes it easy to do all of these things, with just a few taps. The interface is beautiful and you can use it online or offline.
Answering questions on Quora can help you connect with your users and establish you as the authority in your market. This marketing method doesn't work for all types of apps, but if it works for yours, you should give it a try.
Also keep an eye out for apps from large forums in your market. Monitoring these communities can be a great way to come up with new product ideas.
Evernote is a great tool for storing and sharing notes and documents. If you subscribe to Evernote Premium, you get more features like automatic OCR and two-step authorization. These features give you more security and allow you to search pictures and PDFs.
Dropbox makes it easy to sync files between multiple devices. Never misplace an ad creative or piece of copy again. You get 2GB for free to start.
The Google Analytics app can help you keep track of your website and app analytics while you are on the go. Their simplified interface makes it easy to see your metrics.
Asana has an easy-to-use project management app that allows you to easily assign and track all of your app marketing projects. The only downside is that it is does take some time to learn how to use the system.
But if you have a a lot of different projects going at once and several team members, it is hard to beat the functionality of Asana. The best part is that Asana is free for the first 15 team members and they give you unlimited tasks and projects.
If you are looking for a simpler alternative to Asana, then Trello might just be what you need. You can organize your projects by setting up different Boards. Their website is just as easy to use as their mobile app.
You can setup boards for things like:
Social Media
Press Releases
Paid Ads
And More!
Then add cards to your boards and order them according to priority. This makes it really easy for everyone on your team to see what needs to be finished next.
This list is just meant to be a starting point. There are more great marketing apps out there. But we hope that this list gets you started on the right foot.
