If you haven't visited our homepage recently, we want to give you a quick look at what we have been up to and how it can help you evaluate how your app is doing, as well as keep up with your competition. We have added some metrics that quickly distill a lot of information and the best part is that it is available for free.
To get started, go to the Sensor Tower homepage and type in the name of your app. In the previous version of our homepage, you would only see your keywords or the keywords of your competition. Now the following information is available.
Let's use Clash of Clans as an example. In addition to the keywords, you will see the ratings of the app by day, the overall grade for the app, the Sensor Score, Visibility Score and the Internationalization Score.
The Internationalization Score shows how well the app is performing in international app stores. The Visibility Score tells you how easily the app can be found in App Store search and the Sensor Score is an overall rating of the app. All scores are on a scale of 0 to 100, with 100 being the highest score possible.
Based on all the data we compile on an app, it gets a simple grade that appears above the scores. In this example, Clash of Clans is one of the best apps out there and gets an "A+" grade.
Let's say that you have a banking app and want to check out how other apps are doing. One of the first apps that you would probably check out is the Chase Mobile (SM) app.
This app is OK, getting an average "C" grade. Their Visibility and Sensor Scores could be improved a little, but their Internationalization Score could use a lot of improvement. Using international keyword modules could help them improve their foreign keywords.
Another app that you might look at is the Bank of America app. When we examine the data for this app, we find that the overall grade of the app is a "D." One thing that may look particularly bad is the Internationalization Score, but it makes sense because their target market is only in the US. However, they could improve their overall visibility and the app has a lot of negative reviews, which means that they could do some Review Analysis to find out what customers are not happy with.
If you are not a Sensor Tower customer yet, the updated information on our homepage can help you find out how well your app is doing or get intelligence on your competitors. Give it a try and see what you find out.
