New and Improved: Category Rankings in Sensor Tower

Learn how to use Sensor Tower's updated Category Rankings module to easily chart global successes, and areas for improvement.

lt="New Data to Consider When Updating Your Android App

Tracking how an app ranks in each of its respective categories is an important part of the ASO workflow. Improved category rankings indicate that your marketing strategy is paying off. The closer an app gets to the top of the charts, the more visible it becomes.

This month, we've increased the functionality of our Category Rankings module to ensure that all Sensor Tower users are getting maximum utility from the feature, along with increased ease of use.

Let's take a look at the new possibilities!

Multi-Country View

For any app you are tracking in your Sensor Tower dashboard, navigate to the Category Rankings module. As always, you can customize the date range and device type to fit your specifications.

Now, we've given users the ability to view an app's category rankings for up to five countries in a single view.

Quickly compare your top markets and immediately visualize where marketing or internationalization efforts are falling behind.

Easily Add and Remove Competitors

Competitors can now be added directly to the Category Rankings chart without navigating away from the module! Simply type the name of another app in the field labeled "Add another app..." and Sensor Tower will plot their historical rankings alongside your own.

Another great use case for this area would be to track across a portfolio of your own apps, to see how they stack up against one another. In this way, you can do a basic A/B test of any disparate marketing strategies you've employed.

CSV Exportable

If you love spreadsheets full of data, you're in the right place. The .csv exports from our Category Rankings module are fully responsive to any parameters specified in the dashboard. Adding and removing countries or competitors in Sensor Tower will be fully reflected in the document you export.

Have you started playing around with the new module? Send us your feedback or requests below. We'd love to hear what you think!
