Supercell's Brawl Stars Surpassed $63 Million Grossed in Its First Month

Brawl Stars, the latest game from mobile giant Supercell, has grossed more than $63 million so far based on Sensor Tower Store Intelligence estimates.

Brawl Stars Revenue First Month

Brawl Stars, the first new title nearly three years from Finnish mobile gaming giant Supercell, has grossed more than $63.4 million since launching globally on December 12, estimates from Sensor Tower's Store Intelligence platform show. Players spent an average of nearly $2 million per day in the game following its exit from soft-launch, where it had remained for almost one and a half years after debuting in Canada on June 15, 2017.

This total signifies a phenomenal launch for a new IP, something Supercell hadn't tackled since Boom Beach in 2013. Its most recent release prior to Brawl Stars was Clash Royale, a spin-off of the mega-hit Clash of Clans, which arrived in March 2016 riding a wave of pre-existing franchise affinity. That sent the title's first month revenue soaring past $136.5 million worldwide outside of China, or about 115 percent of what players spent in Brawl Stars during its inaugural 30 days.

Brawl Stars Revenue for Its First Month Compared to Clash Royale First Month Revenue

The United States contributed the single largest portion of first month Brawl Stars revenue at approximately $16.5 million or about 26 percent of the total. The game has also performed quite well so far in Asia, specifically Japan and South Korea, which accounted for 15 percent and 12 percent of its first month revenue, respectively.

Despite being available only on iOS initially during soft-launch, Brawl Stars debuted worldwide on both the App Store and Google Play. Since its arrival, its popularity has been split evenly across both platforms, with half of its first month revenue coming from each.

Brawl Stars was the No. 15 grossing mobile game worldwide for December 2018 despite launching nearly halfway through the month. It was the most downloaded game overall worldwide last month and has remained among the top 20 grossing U.S. iPhone games each day since its release.
