Playrix's Gardenscapes recently celebrated its second birthday, and along the way the title has surpassed worldwide revenue of $880 million according to Sensor Tower's Store Intelligence estimates. A recent mid-September update led to a sharp increase in downloads and revenue that helped Gardenscapes reach this milestone.
On September 18, Playrix published an update to Gardenscapes that included a new character, Annie Smith. The update led to features on both the App Store and Google Play. Thanks to the new version and store features, approximately 241,000 users installed the app on September 21. This figure marks a 180 percent increase compared to the average daily downloads in August (86,000), and represents the app's highest daily downloads since October 2017.
Gardenscapes' newly released version also had a visible effect on revenue. When comparing the beginning of September to the period after the update, we see that the game's daily average revenue increased by 12 percent. With this boost, the game was able to gross $35 million for the month.
