Yesterday, Glu Mobile posted 2Q18 revenue growth of 20 percent over the year-ago quarter, and Sensor Tower Store Intelligence data shows that its four year old Kim Kardashian: Hollywood played a significant role in these results.
According to our estimates, Kim Kardashian app revenue saw a year-over-year increase of about 28 percent, bringing in approximately $8.1 million in worldwide player spending during the quarter, up from $6.4 million in 2Q17.
This accounted for about 9.7 percent of Glu Mobile's in-app revenue for the quarter, placing it fourth behind Covet Fashion, MLB Tap Sports Baseball 2018, and Design Home in terms of revenue contribution. Clearly, Glu's oldest and most successful celebri-game still has considerable star appeal.
The United States continued to account for the lion's share of spending in Kim Kardashian: Hollywood last quarter, at about 70 percent of the total across the App Store and Google Play. iPhone owners in particular were the most prolific spenders, contributing nearly 75 percent of that revenue.
