Kabam's three-year-old mobile fighting game Marvel Contest of Champions just got a super-powered shot in the arm from Marvel's smallest big-screen hero. Sensor Tower Store Intelligence data shows that the game's revenue has increased by 384 percent, or nearly five times, thanks to the arrival of new content tied to this week's theatrical release of Ant-Man and The Wasp.
Global player spending in Marvel Contest of Champions reached $3.1 million across the App Store and Google Play on July 4, the same day it returned to No. 1 on the U.S. iPhone top grossing apps chart for the first time since November 2017. This is compared to the average of approximately $644,000 grossed per day across the preceding four Wednesdays.
Marvel Contest of Champions was ranked No. 21 in terms of global mobile gaming revenue for the month of June, with about 61 percent of its revenue coming from the United States.
