Ryan Reynolds’ Mint Mobile Driving Downloads

T-Mobile's CEO, Mike Sievert, stated that the company had the highest earnings growth in the industry in 2Q23. Sensor Tower data also showed that T-Mobile had the highest percentage growth in downloads out of the studied US carriers, up ~80% YoY in 2Q23. T-Mobile acquired budget wireless carrier Mint Mobile in 1Q23, which experienced 250% YoY growth in downloads, partly due to Ryan Reynolds' marketing efforts. Budget carriers have seen a 40% YoY increase in downloads throughout 2023.
