Toon Blast Rockets Past $1 Billion in Lifetime Revenue

Toon Blast generated $205 million in H1 2020, its best start to a year ever, Sensor Tower data shows.

Toon Blast Revenue

Toon Blast from Zynga’s newly acquired studio Peak Games has amassed $1 billion in lifetime revenue according to Sensor Tower Store Intelligence estimates.

Toon Blast was released in 2017 as a follow-up to its other hit title, Toy Blast, which has grossed close to $820 million to date. Player spending in Toon Blast has increased each year since its launch, and H1 2020 represented its best first half-year ever, with revenue rising 12 percent year-over-year to more than $205 million amid the global COVID-19 pandemic and lockdowns.

Global First Half-Year Player Spending in Toon Blast

Toon Blast has accumulated most of its revenue from the United States, racking up about $604 million, or 60 percent of all player spending. Japan ranked No. 2 for revenue, while Great Britain ranked No. 3.

When it comes to downloads, Toon Blast has generated upwards of 113 million installs to date. The U.S. again ranks No. 1, accounting for 36.5 million downloads, or 32 percent. Japan follows in No. 2, while Great Britain rounds out the top three.

Reliable Revenue

The acquisition of Peak Games for $1.8 billion has given a significant boost to Zynga’s revenue, not to mention a stronger foothold in the casual games market. Toon Blast has had a stellar first half in 2020, and Toy Blast continues to pull in significant sales. Few studios are able to follow-up a hit with another success, and even fewer launch a new title that surpasses its predecessor. Toon Blast’s new milestone further cements it as a prime example of puzzle game design and operations done right for other publishers to study, and shows just how valuable Peak Games is to Zynga’s future.
