Top Finance Apps Worldwide for May 2019 by Downloads

Google Pay Tez was the most downloaded Finance category app worldwide for May 2019 with close to nine million installs, which represented 2.7x year-over-year growth from May 2018. The majority of the installs were from India at 99.9 percent. The full top 10 ranking of Finance category apps worldwide by downloads for May 2019 is above. App download estimates are from Sensor Tower’s Store Intelligence platform.

PhonePe was the second most installed Finance app worldwide last month with more than 4.7 million downloads, which represented a 27 percent Y/Y increase from May 2018. Like Google Pay Tez, the majority of the installs are from India at 99.4 percent. PayPal, Cash App, and UnionPay made up the rest of the five most installed apps in the category.

Our estimates include downloads for the App Store and Google Play worldwide between May 1, 2018 and May 31, 2019. Apple apps and Google pre-installed apps are excluded.
