Indie studio Snowman released Alto's Odyssey, its Apple Design Award winning sequel to Alto's Adventure, in early February. Now, Sensor Tower's Store Intelligence data shows that, in the time since its launch, the adventure game has grossed more than $1 million worldwide across the App Store and Google Play.
That first million was made in about eight months, which puts Alto's Odyssey on a much faster trajectory than its predecessor, which took almost a year to reach the same milestone. To date, Alto's Adventure has grossed more than $3.5 million worldwide
Most of the game's success has been driven by players in the United States, who account for 42 percent of spending to date. China and Great Britain represent the next largest markets with 9 and 5 percent of all-time worldwide revenue, respectively.
Alto's Odyssey is free to download from Google Play with in-app purchases, but the title is a $4.99 premium game on the App Store. Undoubtedly due to this arrangement, 96 percent of the game's estimated 4.5 million total downloads are from Android users.
