Nintendo's Dragalia Lost Reaches $75 Million, Surpassing Mario and Animal Crossing Lifetime Revenue on Mobile

Nintendo's latest mobile game has added $25 million in gross revenue since December 2018, Sensor Tower Store Intelligence data shows.

Nintendo's latest mobile game, Dragalia Lost, has already grossed more than the life-to-date revenue of its smartphone incarnations of Super Mario and Animal Crossing, Sensor Tower Store Intelligence data reveals. According to our estimates, player spending in the Cygames-developed RPG has just surpassed $75 million worldwide on the App Store and Google Play, having reached the $50 million milestone in early December.

This figure places Dragalia Lost ahead of Super Mario Run's $68.6 million in gross revenue since its launch in December 2016 and the $70.8 million we estimate Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp has generated following its arrival in November 2017. Japan has accounted for about 65 percent of Dragalia Lost's $75 million grossed to date, while the United States is its second largest market at 18 percent of revenue. The title ranked No. 29 for mobile game revenue in Japan last month, while it was No. 120 in the U.S.

While it's made only a fraction of the more than $500 million we estimate Nintendo's best performing mobile game, Fire Emblem Heroes, has brought in since February 2017, Dragalia Lost has established itself as a relatively close second to that title in terms of monthly revenue. In January, it generated close to $15.7 million in player spending, which was 76 percent of the $20.7 million grossed by Fire Emblem Heroes for the month. What's important to note is that Dragalia Lost achieved this from just five countries, compared to the 40 where Fire Emblem Heroes is available.
