For the past few months, our product team has been hard at work developing more context-rich and granular analysis for our Keywords feature, part of our App Intelligence product. Today, we've released a new feature to help your team further measure the impact of your ASO strategy: Keyword Downloads.
Keyword Downloads enables users to individually measure the impact of various keywords by delivering estimates of how many organic downloads were generated for a specific term. In App Intelligence, these terms are represented as shares of a given app's total organic downloads for a period of time, so it's easy to determine which terms were most effective. For customers with both App Intelligence and Store Intelligence, both the share of downloads and estimated install figures are available.
For example, a crossword game may receive 48,000 downloads (80 percent) of its users from searches for "crossword" and an additional 3,000 (5 percent) from the term "dictionary." This feature is critical for users who want to further optimize their ASO strategy for growth, as it gives key information on which terms are making the best overall impact for your organic user acquisition roadmap.
This feature will be useful in understanding ASO strategy and conducting experiments to determine how best to capture mindshare in crowded genres. When used in concert with other Keyword features, Organic Downloads by Keyword will enable users to understand how competitive a keyword term is in a given genre, and how much value it returns during a given period. In short, Keyword Downloads provides teams with an understanding of the direct impact of a keyword on an organic install, going beyond the search results and delivering a direct user capture.
This added layer of complexity opens the doors for even broader tactics, such as measuring the returns of optimizing for a single popular search term versus multiple plays on several smaller terms.
