Top Mobile Games Worldwide for January 2020 by Downloads

Johnny Trigger from SayGames was the most downloaded mobile game worldwide for January 2020 with 44.5 million installs. The countries with the most installs of the game during this period were United States at 16.1 percent of its total downloads and India at 10.5 percent. The full top 10 ranking of mobile games worldwide by downloads for January 2020 is above. App download estimates are from Sensor Tower’s Store Intelligence platform.

Brain Out from Eyewind was the second most installed mobile game worldwide last month with more than 41.5 million installs. The countries with the largest number of Brain Out installs were Indonesia at 11.4 percent, followed by Vietnam at 9 percent. Hunter Assassin from Ruby Game Studio, Sand Balls from SayGames, and PUBG Mobile from Tencent rounded out the top five most installed mobile games worldwide for the month.

Gardenscapes and Homescapes from Playrix both saw a surge in downloads during January. Homescapes had its biggest month for installs since April 2019, picking up 17.7 million installs. Gardenscapes, meanwhile, had its best month ever for new downloads, accumulating 20.9 million installs. This also coincided with the title’s best month ever for revenue, as it generated $67.6 million in January 2020.

There were three new entries to the App Store top 10 rankings last month, including Woodturning 3D from Voodoo, which picked up 9.1 million downloads on iOS, Soap Cutting from Crazy Labs, which accumulated 6.1 million installs, and Blendy! from Lion Studios, which racked up 4.6 million downloads.
